However, dead or unhealthy trees have already shed their leaves or may never have had leaves this summer. A lack of green leaves during the growing season near St. Louis is a key indication that a tree is dead and should be removed if it is a potential threat to your property.

We also recommend that the branches on healthy trees are evaluated, to make sure they are kept trimmed away from power lines, windows, car parking areas, walkways and other areas.
